The Indian GM Viswanathan Anand, also called the Tiger of Madras, takes the lead in World Chess Championship Mexico 2007. In round 5 Anand defeated Peter Svidler in a variant of Attack Marshall (Ruy Lopez). Aland leads with 3,5 points (+2)!
The world chess champion Vladimir Kramnik draw his game against Peter Leko in 24 moves. Alexander Grischuk, with white, defeated Alexander Morozevich in 41 moves. Boris Gelfand, with white, defeated Armenian Levon Aronian in 48 moves. Three white victories in this round.
