Peter Leko - Magnus Carlsen (after the first two rounds)

Peter Leko (HUN) - Magnus Carlsen (NOR) rapid chess match takes place in National Theatre, Miskolc, Hungary.
After the first playing day at the match there are two draws. At the first round Carlsen choose the Sicilian Defence - Dragon against Leko's 1. e4.
The second game was Caro-Kann Classical and Leko had the black pieces. It finished at 18th move by three repetition rule.

MTel Masters 2008: Ivanchuk Is

Vassily Ivanchuk won the 4th MTel Masters. Today in the final 10th Round he won against Bulgarian Ivan Cheparionov in Sicilian Taimanov game. The other two games today was drawn finished:
Levon Aronian - Xiangzhi Bu (Grunfeld Defence, Slav/Shlechter)
Veselin Topalov - Teimour Radjabov (Sicilian, Lowental-Kalashnikov).

MTel Masters 2008: Xiangzhi Bu lost again

МТел Мастърс 2008All of todays Round 7 MTel Masters 2008 three games were just ended.
Bulgarian GM Ivan Cheparinov (black) ended on a draw in Spanish opening - Anti-Marshal closed variation against Armenian Levon Aronian. They shake them hands after a three moves repetition on move 45.
The Chinese player Xiangzhi Bu lost again. Today he was with black pieces against Azeri GM Teimour Radjabov. Bu had chose the Hameleon variation in Slav defence but in the end with non -active bishop and rook vs. active Queen for his opponent hadn't any chances and resigned.
In the leader's derby Vassily Ivanchuk and Bulgarian Veselin Topalov ended on a draw in 49 moves Semi-Slav - Moskow variation.

MTel Masters 2008: A Remarkable Win For Cheparinov

Bulgarian GM Ivan Cheparinov realized a remarkable win against Chinese GM Bu Xiangzhi. They had played their game in Slav Defence. Cheparinoh had black pieces.
Temporary leader of the tournament - Ukrainian GM Vassily Ivanchuk lost his first half a point in this MTel Masters event by a draw with GM Teimour Radjabov.
The other Bulgarian here - former World Champion Veselin Topalov won his Slav Defence game against Armenian Levon Aronian. Topalov had a pawn and more active pieces in the edngame.

MTel Masters 2008 - Ivanchuk beat them all...

Ukrainian supergrand master Vassily Ivanchuk beat today the last of all his opponents. He won with black pieces against Armenian Levon Aronian in 44-moves Slav Defence game. Ivanchuk had two rooks and a bishop against a queen for Aronian and won esy in the end game.
The second Sval deence game for the day was played between Bulgarian Veselin Topalov and Bu Xiangzhi from China, but instead of black this time white won the game for only 31 move (first finished game today).
In very interesting King Indian game Ivan Cheparinov and Teimur Radjabov finished on a draw.

MTel Masters 2008 - Round 4

The first finished game today was played between Bulgarian GM Veselin Topalov and Azeri one - Teimur Radjabov. It was a Catalan game.
In the other two games from this round Chinese GM Bu Xiandzhi and GM Armenian Levon Aronian were played in Slav Defence and finished on a draw, and Bulgarian Ivan Cheparinov lost against Vassily Ivanchuk in King Indian.
