The World Chess Championship Match 2008 (WCC Match 2008) between current World Chess Champion Viswanathan Anand and the former one Vladimir Kramnik is going to take place in Bonn (Germany) from 14th October to 02th November 2008.

World Chess Championship Match - Bonn 2008 (Germany) - Regulations



12 games will be played.

Time control is 120 minutes for first 40 moves, 60 minutes for next 20 moves and 15 minutes with 30 seconds addition for the rest of the game.

The winner is player, who first accumulate 6.5 points. If the scores are equal after the regular twelve (12) games, a tie break will be played.

The tie break consists of 4 rapid chess games, followed by 2 blitz games (if necessary), followed by a blitz "sudden death" game.


Press conferences

Both players are obliged to be available for press conferences after the games.
