Magnus Carlsen defeated Fabiano Caruana (USA) in tie-breaks to retain World Chess Championship title (classical chess).
On 28 november 2018, tiebreaks on rapid chess was played, to decide the world chess championship title (classical chess), after 12 draws in classical games.
The tiebreak has started with 2 victories for Carlsen - with white and black pieces. There was 2 more games and Caruana had to score 2 victories to get back in the match.
In the 3rd game Carlsen had white and after exchanges it was heading to a draw. For Caruana a draw was equal to a lost game, so he just tried to play few more moves, waiting for a miracle..., but miracles happen quite rare in chess and Carlsen managed to score another victory for the final results:
3-0 for Carlsen in the tie-breaks (rapid chess).
