Gata Kamsky is the 1st finalist of World Chess Cup 2007 in Russia. He won his game today against the young Magnus Carlsen and will have a free day tomorrow.

In the 2nd semifinal, Karjakin and Shirov ended in a draw. They will play tomorrow in rapid tiebreak and blitz if nesessary.

The winner of the World Cup 2007 will play against Bulgarian Veselin Topalov.

Armenian Levon Aronian and Russians Peter Svidler and Evgeny Bareev was knocked-out on the 1/8 finals of the World Cup 2007. Dmitry Jakovenko, Gata Kamsky and Evgeny Alekseev are on quarterfinals. The games start tomorrow at 15 local time.

World Chess Cup 2007 - round 3 tiebreaks - Bareev beats Grischuk in rapid tiebreak

After two rapid tiebreak games of round 3, Aronian, Svidler, Bareev and Karjakin are on 1/8 finals. Inarkiev, Rublevsky, Grischuk and Bacrot should go home.

Two more matches was decided in blitz tiebreaks. Krishnan Sasikiran won both blitz games against Bartlomiej Macieja (POL). Liviu-Dieter Nisipeanu won against top-rated player in Khanty-Mansiysk, Ukrainian Vassily Ivanchuk. He is the last 1/8 finalist of the World chess cup 2007.

FIDE Chess World Cup 2007 takes place in Khanty-Mansiysk (Russia), November 22 - December 18, 2007.

After 2nd games of round 3, Shakhriyar Mamedyarov AZE) and Bu Xiangzhi (CHN) are free to go home.The young Bulgarian grandmaster Ivan Cheparinov won with white against Mamedyarov and in 2nd game a draw was enough.

Today 12 players will fight for 6 free position of the 1/8 finals. They will join to Cheparinov, Shirov, Adams, Alekseev, Carlsen, Kamsky, Akopian, Jakovenko, Ponomariov and Wang Yue.
