Sponsored by one of the biggest airline company and became one of the populars chess events - The 8th Aeroflot Open Chess Festival takes place in Russian capital city of Moskow from 16 February (arrival) to 27 February 2009 (departure).
The major event consists of four tournaments (A1,A2, B and C - made up according to the rating of the participants) witch are 9 rounds Swiss System each.
