World Chess Championship Mexico 2007 - Live chess games for all chess fans
The World Chess Championship 2007 (WCC 2007) will take place in Mexico City (Mexico), September 12 - October 1, 2007.
The participants are reigning world chess champion Vladimir Kramnik (2769), the rating leader in the world Viswanathan Anand (2792), Alexander Morozevich (2758), Peter Leko (2751), Levon Aronian (2750), Peter Svidler (2735), Boris Gelfand (2733), Alexander Grischuk (2726). The last four qualified in the Elista candidate matches May-June 2007. The tournament system is a double round-robin (each player plays every other with white and black).
The Championship will be held in the 5-star Sheraton Centro Histórico Hotel in Mexico city, where the eight participants will share the prize fund of 1,3 million US dollars. The Opening ceremony is on September 12 from 19.00 local time in the "Mexico city" theatre.
All games will be played from 13th September to 1st October each day. The games start at 14.00h (local time). Resting days are 17, 21 and 26 of September.
