FIDE Chess World Cup 2007 takes place in Khanty-Mansiysk (Russia), November 22 - December 18, 2007.
Teimour Radjabov lost again in his 2nd game from round 2 against Bartlomiej Macieja (POL). In 12 matches the result after 2nd game of round 2 is equal, so tomorrow 24 players will fight for 12 positions in round 3. Magnus Carlsen experienced some difficulty against Arkadij Naiditsch (GER), the same for Vassily Ivanchuk against Alexander Galkin. All games start at 15.00 local time.

World Cup 2007 round 1, game 2 results
World Cup 2007 takes place in Khanty-Mansiysk (Russia), November 22 - December 18, 2007.
After round 1 the software for live games was changed. At least for me, the new software (or may be connection problems) generated some funny games and move orders like 1-2 times repetition and absolutely "stupid" moves. In addition the official site is not well updated, sections are empty or links are broken (at least in English version). I found a photo gallery from round 1:

Garry Kasparov was arrested in Moscow
Russian police have detained opposition leader and former world chess champion Garry Kasparov and other critics of President Putin at a rally in Moscow organised by Mr Kasparov's Other Russia coalition. About 3,000 protesters attended, including for the first time the leader of one of the mainstream liberal parties – a sign that the movement is growing.

The Chigorin Memorial 2007, St. Petersburg, Russia
The Chigorin Memorial takes place in Russian city of St. Pitersburg between 29th of November and 9th of December 2007. The tournament has a long history, and the organizers do their best to provide the most attractive conditions to chess players. The prize fund of the event has been increased considerably. It has ran up to 1500000 Russian rubles (about 43000 Ђ).An event of such a level is always a great source of experience for young players. Peter Svidler, Alexander Morozevich, Alexander Grischuk and Evgeny Alekseev played there at their rise.
The program includes grandmaster (a stage of the Russian Cup - ELO 2400+), master, blitz and rapid chess tournaments.
